What inspired ‘ya to start @reubenrollers? Why cycling and Reubens?
Reuben Rollers was born out of two serious obsessions—cycling and chasing the ultimate Reuben sandwich. They fuel their rides with the hunt for the perfect Reuben, making their cycling adventures as much about the food as the ride itself.
What’s the vibes like on a Reuben Rollers ride?
Laidback, fun, and always a little greasy by the end. We run weekly social rides, pop-up events, and an annual “Reuben Day”, where the group cycles across different sandwich spots in Perth tasting variations of the beloved Reuben. It’s an epic way for the Reuben Rollers to bond over their shared love of cycling and good food.
What makes a great Reuben?
A top-tier Reuben sandwich must have the perfect balance of flavors and textures. Essential ingredients include corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and Thousand Island dressing, all served on toasted rye bread. The bread should be crisp, and the sandwich should be warm and gooey. Ultimately, when it’s done right, it’s messy in the best way.
What stood out about Joey Zaza’s Reubens?
A bold, flavourful spin on a classic, The JAYZEE Reuben is a unique take featuring in-house marinated and roasted corned beef, crunchy slaw, tangy pickles, American cheese, sauerkraut, and mustard dill cream sauce on toasted sunflower rye.
The NYC Brekkie Reuben Bagel makes you feel like you’re in New York for sure. It’s the type of bagel that would be served straight from a bustling counter, with a side of half-sour pickles and thick-cut potato knish. The eggs scrambled, corned beef that would be cut fresh by a seasoned deli master, ensuring each slice is juicy, tender, and unforgettable – Very much the same vibe serving up the bustling corner on St George Terrace.
